Description: Last lunch in Puerto Princessa and we ended up in Chow King, a chain restaurant that’s even made its way to my small suburb of Los Angeles. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t go more ‘native’. But our guide said we were out of time and the couple from the Netherlands were with us and wanted to go here as it’s not available in Europe.
I thoroughly enjoyed my ‘halo-halo’ which translates into ‘mix-mix’. It’s a sweet cold slushy dessert with all the goodies at the bottom, oftentimes topped with ube or taro ice cream. You need to mix it well to get the good stuff underneath, hence, mix mix.
